Kanto released the iPort 5 and iPair 5 in the fall of 2007 followed in 2008 by the iPort 4 and ZED.
In 2006 Kanto recognized that there was a need for high-quality speakers for iPod and MP3 players. We started with high-gloss piano finish cabinets that incorporate exceptional acoustics. The cabinets are hand-made from acoustical MDF, with special porting and cavity construction. A base-thumping powerful Class AB amplifier drives the Kevlar speakers and silk tweeters. This combination resulted in two products: the iPort 5 and the iPair 5 released in the fall of 2007.
